Data Cleanup Resources

During the data cleanup campaign a few special resources will be available during the event only, and some existing GT resources will be highlighted for continued use after the event.

Take a moment to review the resources listed in the navigation bar to the left of this page to see what will be available during and after the campaign to maintain a sensitive data free computer and work environment.

CAUTION: Don't forget to delete those email attachments and empty the Recycle Bin after deleting sensitive files

HOT TIPS:

  1. The spider log file contains information to which files could potentially contain sensitive data on that system.  It is important to move the file off the system as soon as possible.

  2. Did you know that once a file is deleted from your computer and the recycling bin is empyted, a "finger print" of the file still exist?

To make sure a file is securely deleted from the computer, run one of the secure delete tools from the Toolbox after deleting sensitive files and before discarding hard drives.

Please let us know if your department has a service that will enhance the GT Data Cleanup Campaign and we will add it to this resource page!
